A glimpse into the journal I kept for all 38 days on the Camino Frances, including up to 10 photos (not necessarily the best pictures but more that they represent that day in some particular way). Today is day 5 – April 25th. Pamplona to Cizur Menor

Another beautiful morning – so far luck has been on our side. …We were off to explore Pamplona. Found a covered market with fruits, vegetables, fish, cheeses, pastries, etc. Went into a few churches, one of which a Dominican priest showed us where St. Francisco Xavier’s grandparents were buried in the church’s floor. [Dude was one of the founders of the Jesuits] …

Robin and I had café con leche with churros and chocolate for breakfast. Was yum. Added my extra chocolate to the coffee… Then we had lunch at a bar restaurant where we tried pinxos, kind of like tapas. I had tortilla and ½ a cured ham and cheese sandwich. Back at the albergue (closed 8:30 to noon), we got our bags out of the lockers and headed off about 2pm.

Was honked at by a truck driver. …

Afternoon was spent doing laundry, internet, and exploring the nothingness that is Cizur Menor. Checked out the two options for dinner – chose the place closest to the hostel despite bar guy being a little too friendly towards me. Why am I always attractive to middle-aged and old men?! …

Thirteen others in the room, co-ed. I am writing this at 9:45 using the red light on my headlamp, surrounded by half-naked unattractive European men. Joy.
